We serve god, when we work and play together

4R

Possible activities your child could do at home during isolation:

  • The next part of our topic is about The Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.  Please research about the area, the features and the myths about how it was formed and how it was actually formed.
  • Read or watch on YouTube the story of Finn McCool and the Giant’s Causeway then re-tell this story in your own words. Use your literacy skills to include different sentence types, punctuation, detailed description and dialogue between characters.
  • Research about Derbyshire.  You could watch a Derbyshire tourist information video to help learn about the human and physical features, landmarks, places of interest.
  • Describe places in Derbyshire that you have visited.
  • Reading-never underestimate the power of reading and discussing books, whether it be a school book, library book or any book of your child’s choice.

Marvellous Medicine Missing!

George's marvellous medicine has been stolen! The police interviewed the suspects: Grandma, Mrs Kranky and Mr Kranky and asked Year 3 and 4 to examine the evidence. Have a look at them investigating the scene and reading QR codes with more evidence on.

Who do you think stole the medicine?

This Thursday (25th February) we are walking to the Stanton Road cemetery to visit the grave of the famous Ilkeston giant, Samuel Taylor.  We hope the sun will be shining so that we can enjoy all that we have planned whilst we are there.

Don't forget to check out year 3 and 4's amazing 'Do the Strictly' and even the reviews from the dancers themselves on our twitter page.
