Safeguarding

Keeping children safe - and teaching them how to stay safe - is a very important role within any school.

Defined for the purpose of this guidance as

  • Protecting children from maltreatment;
  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
  • Ensuring children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances

More information is available in the pdf of the school's Child Protection/ Safeguarding Policy below.

If you have any concerns about the safety and welfare of any child at school please speak to any member of staff who will be able to direct your concern to the appropriate person.

The designated Person in School for Child Protection is Mr Lobb.

In his absence the designated person is Miss White.

IN LESSONS

Over the course of the year, children will be taught how to stay safe online and how to stay safe while 'out and about'.  We are hoping that the NSPCC will come in to deliver some lessons to the children on how to stay safe.

WITH PARENTS

We are hoping to organise a parent's meeting about online safety so you can support your children stay safe when they are on the internet early in 2017.  We consulted with parents about changes to our Relationship and Sex Education teaching.
